Kevin Patrick Codd passed away on March 31, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength, unwavering support, integrity and deep devotion to his family. Kevin lived a full and meaningful life-one defined not by recognition, but by the impact he made on those around him. He served as the Deputy Director of the Staten Island Landfill, a role he carried with dedication and responsibility. Beyond his work, his true character was revealed in the moments that mattered most. First and foremost, family--summer vacations, boy scouts, baseball and a host of activities to take part in all the things his children loved. You could always find him at the race track- in the pit-where his brilliance truly shined. He was a genius mechanic and machinist, respected for his skill, instinct, and willingness to help others without ever seeking the spotlight. Kevin was an innovator and a loved leader, having inspired many to reach their full potential even when they hadn't yet imagined this. He always saw the best in everyone, even when others could not. Fishing for Kevin was more than a hobby and he so enjoyed the camaraderie shared with his friends at the Staten Island Surf Club and the Prince's Bay Boatman Association. His impact, too, on founding the IPPCH, where he worked tirelessly to bring children from Ireland to the states to enjoy a summer away from the troubles, brought many unexpected and beautiful Irish smiles to Staten Island. He was a devoted husband, a proud father, a cherished grandfather, and a loyal brother. His steady presence, quiet humor, and dependable nature created a foundation his family could always rely on. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife, JoAnn; his sister, Ellen; and his brother, Mike. He leaves behind his children, Erica, Tracey, Maura, Kevin, and Joseph, who carry forward his values and spirit. He was a proud grandfather to Delaney, Caroline, Cecelia, Raquel, Austin, Deaven, Sophia, and Ava-each of whom brought him immense pride and joy. Kevin's life, and integral character remind us that greatness is not always loud. Sometimes, it is found in the quiet acts of love, the unwavering support, the unmatched integrity alongside humility, and the presence of someone who simply shows up-again and again. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered. . The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 at Holy Child Church located at 4747 Amboy Road Staten Island, New York 10312. Cremation will be private.
