David DiBrienza

David DiBrienza, a devoted family man, passed away on June 10, 2026 surrounded by his loved ones. Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, David attended William E Grady High School to learn automotive mechanics and went on to dedicate 28 years of service to the New York City Department of Sanitation, where he worked with pride, brought his work ethic and formed meaningful relationships. Before beginning his career, he used his skills while honorably serving his country in Panama from 1969 to 1970, carrying with him a deep sense of duty and commitment. David was the beloved husband of Marie, with whom he shared 52 wonderful years of marriage built on love, laughter, and partnership. He was a cherished brother to Carole and a loving father to his son, Matthew (spouse Christine), and his daughter, Jennifer (spouse Giuseppe). His greatest joy was being ''Grandpa'' to his four grandchildren, Allison, Sara, Brian, and Emma, who brought endless happiness and pride to his life. Known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor, David never missed an opportunity to tell a joke or make someone smile. Whether sharing stories with friends or making family gatherings brighter with his laughter - he had a remarkable ability to bring people together. Outside of work and family, David found enjoyment in hunting and fishing. He was an enthusiastic NASCAR fan who rarely missed a race. He appreciated the simple pleasures of life and treasured every moment spent with those he loved. David will be remembered for his kindness, humor, dedication to his family, and the countless laughs he shared with everyone fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the values he instilled, the memories he created, and the love that continues through his family. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all whose lives he touched. The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 - 9:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc., 28 Eltingville Blvd, Staten Island, New York. A Funeral Service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Monday at John Vincent Scalia Home for Funerals, Inc. located at 28 Eltingville Blvd Staten Island, New York 10312. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the American Heart Association.
